A what to expect from future Tri - Yearly Reading Updates.
I always make sure to keep a record of the media I consume, with varying levels of response (ranging from a sentence or two in a few volumes of notebooks to whole, page-spanning reviews). But this is the first time I've ever documented the books I've read over a certain amount of time.
Come April 31st, I'll post a thought-piece on my reads starting from December of 2018 and ending with the things finished in April. I will not be overlapping years in the future, but because I neglected the record in months prior I will be accounting for material read when I began.
I'll do this three times a year: at the end of April, the end of August, and at the end of December. I count all physical and digital books, including but not limited to:
- Novels
- Non-Fiction/Reference
- Magazines
- Graphic Novels/Manga/Comics
- Compiled Poetry
And, from this time forward, I will probably begin doing music albums as well. While not literature, they are art all the same and part of being an artist, to me, is well-versing yourself in all mediums (that may be a blog in the future!) As for film and television, my viewing habits are pretty inconsistent, and while I keep them in a private list I don't think I'll be doing something like this for them anytime soon.
I won't list everything I read, but I will publish the number of each different kind of material, and briefly share my thoughts on the exceptional pieces as well as the stinkers.
That about sums it up. Only a few days left to meet the deadline. I hope to see you there.
